You never fail to amaze!
What is the significance of the blocks of colours, (I can't make out all the text - old eyes)
if the bible is really a very intricate hoax, what is the objective?.
i've read some theories that it has been used to succesfully make a 'business' of religion.. is this really it?
to make money?.

go and read it again at acts 5: 11. ananias and sapphira drop dead at peter's feet for "playing false to god/holy spirit" by not giving all of the money to peter that they got from a field they sold.
ananias and sapphira were christians.
they wanted to help the poor and so sold one of their possessions, a field, and gave most of the money to peter.
How's this for a possibility-
The asking price of the field, may well have been be public knowledge (for sale sign), thus Peter and other nieghbours would have an anticipated amount fixed in their minds.
The couple sell the field for a major down payment, and extend credit to the buyer for the remainder. Peter, like the WTS, wants the money NOW.
The couple give him the full amount recieved, but can't commit to the portion on credit.
They may actually have been very poor and the greatest, real security of the poor is a piece of land -much the same even today.
They had no guarantee of the balance ever being paid - what if the buyer, died or fell sick, or cheated them? -all things beyond their control - and they had already given freely, ALL of what little security they had.
Pete knew the asking price of 10 and when he only got 7 or 8, he lost it, without all the facts - much like a modern day Judicial Committees.

no it was not the wtbts.
it was the roman catholic archdiocese.
even dissention within a hierarchical organization cannot guarantee that the rights of individuals will be protected.

Yes the title makes all the difference . I only read this one (last) after passing it over many times, and that b/c of the siren-chasing topic.
Okage's thread title, '' Would this work? Be honest. Brutal, if necessary.'', gave hope that we could do something effective- and within that same day, the first page of comments came from people willing and ready to do so. There are still posters 4 days later expressing the same interest. I offered an idea also, it was discredited, but fair enough...so.. what CAN we come up with that might expose the WT, or cause it to loose credibility, or make it easier for people to leave the WT without family persecution?
I like your idea, okage too, has a great zest for ideas - I feel there will be loads of support on JWN for a decent plan or two, or three....we got some smart caring people here.
Keep the discussion going , maybe on it's original thread... I'm still in, and so are others just today...

i feel i must preface this with context so as to make the intention understandable: .
to jehovah's witnesses and their apologists, that goal is destruction of truth and the downfall of jehovah's witnesses.
but that's not our goal.
Hello Tec- I always value you viewpoints.
You make a very apropriate point about youthful baptisms. The courts recognize the immaturityof those under adult age, and do not hold them legaly responsible in many situations, especially if duress and pressures have been applied by older ones (a WT specialty).
A letter of refusal from the branch offfice, in response to a well worded request for annulment, should prove sufficient humanitarian need to seek the courts assistance for relief.
The legal ramifications, of punishing someone for exercising their freedom of religion, still intrigues me in spite of my shellacing by Chaserious - who seems to grasp the principles better than I.
Tec, please keep processing these ideas with your unique Christian viewpoint, and share the thoughts that come from it.

every now and then i check statistics for my 607-related articles.
recently, someone has searched for "vat 4956 watchtower", so i went to google to see where my site comes up in the page ranking.. the first entry in the search results is a reference to the watchtower online library, with a reference to their 2011 attempt at defending their doctrine.. and immediately below it is a link to my rebuttal of the same article.
some other actual google searches people have made to get to my site where my pages are in the first page of google's results:.
Jeffro - well done to you, and yes the internet is ggggggreat.
attend the memorial this year..

I think you're right in wanting to show respect for a mans great sacrifice.

I have not been to the KH for about 18 years. I am DF'd or DA'd - not sure which, as no one ever told me - but they sure got the shunning part done.
I am planning to attend this year, and to 'partake' as a 'silent protester'.
I am determinded to find some way to participate, in forcing a change, any change, upon the witnesses that can only be atributed to apostates and not 'holy spirit'.
The WT loves memorial night for it's attendance figures - misconstrued to appear as potential studies or converts. They will soon be forced to discontinue partakers counts , as mentally unstable and mentally diseased ones are already discrediting a count-downward figure for the remaining annointed. They proudly paraded those declining numbers for years, as further proof of the nearness of the end- no any more!
attend the memorial this year..
A fascinating blog ''year of Sundays'' by former JW, Joel Gunz of Oregon, gives a humourous and courageous look at his experience in returning to the KH at the memorial, and 'partaking' for the first time.
This couple spent a year visiting a variety of religions and services - and briefly critique what they find. They have some really pleasant surprises!
Sould we, should we do the same? A good little read, for all us JWN types.

hi guys and gals.
i hope you're all enjoying your lives, whatever path you have chosen.. i have a question for anyone who is currently re-instated, has previously been re-instated, or knows and is still in contact with a re-instated one.. my question is this:.
is the main reason for getting re-instated:.
My kids who are still in, are the ones that want me to 'fake it' back in.
Shunning is not just difficult for those kicked out, but for those in as well.
If it were just a matter of a single meeting, and tickling some ears, I would do it.
I've even come to admire the pragmatic way the Catholics dispatch sin, and penance so efficiently with a wing and a prayer, and let people simply reset their lives to their pre-sin parameters.
But I've already wasted too much of my life in their cult, and I haven't got another brain cell to sacrifice to their drivel.
has anyone else recieved the letter from the gb about international conventions in 2014?
according to the letter the missionarys/order of full time servants desperately need to get to the conventions in their homeland.
so to accomplish this, jehovah needs 15 cents per publisher, per congregation for some months ( sorry i can't remember the exact length of time ).
